Winter is here!

Dec 19, 2008 by bassinbob in General

Winter has arrived @ my house, not much snow couple of inches here and there. The mountains have gotten feet of snow over the past 3 days with more to come. If you like to ski the conditions are epic out here. The biggest thing out here has been the cold, the temperature hasn’t been above 30 for more than a week now. This weekend we are suppose to have a high temperature of 5 degrees, if you are going to the Bronces game better bundle up. Global warming is not in effect here. The kids are out of school until Jan 6th and I am taking a vacation starting Christmas eve, con not have plans currently but can’t wait for it to arrive. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!

A Pair of Great Goalies

Jan 12, 2008 by bassinbob in Sports

Yesterday 2 goalies from the Atlantic Division were named to the All-Star game- Martin Brodeur and as a reserve Rick DiPietro. Congrats to both! I think this is Marty’s 11 time being voted into the All-Star and for Rick it is his first of many. The All-Star game will be played Jan.27th in Atlanta. To view a complete schedule http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=348671
I don’t believe it will be broadcast on standard TV, but I could be wrong. I know it will be on Versus which only available on cable and satellite networks. I am really excited to Rick in his first All-Star to see how he does.

Would you believe??

Jan 04, 2008 by bassinbob in Sports

We know the Atlantic division is probably the toughest division in the NHL. Would you believe if the playoffs were to start today all 5 teams from the Atlantic would be in the playoffs, I don’t think I have ever seen that before not only do we beat each other but apparantly we dominate the rest of the NHL.

Time is short for the Devils

Jan 03, 2008 by bassinbob in Sports

The Devils days of being in first place are numbered. After the Isles beat Florida tonight and the Devils lose to the Flyers tomorrow only 3 games between us n you. I wouldn’t sew on anything on your jacket would be silly to have a championship patch when they didn’t even on the playoffs. Watched parts of the outside game, seemed cool that they were outside but the crowd was so far away from the ice seemed more like an exhibition than a real game. Was too bad that Pittsburg won.

DiPietro questionable??

Dec 27, 2007 by bassinbob in Sports

DiPietro was injured during warmups Wednesday night before the Islanders faced the Toronto Maple Leafs. He lasted only one period of New York’s 4-3 overtime victory.

He underwent an MRI on Thursday and stayed in New York for treatment instead of joining the team in Ottawa for a game that night.

The Islanders said the 26-year-old DiPietro is day to day and might play Saturday at home against New Jersey.

You might get lucky if he can’t play!

Must be a happy place

Dec 18, 2007 by bassinbob in Uncategorized

I noticed today the Devils beat the Flyers on Sunday must be a happy place at your house!! Did anybody get any snow from the blizzard? Looked pretty bad when I was watching football Sunday! That same storm we only received 3″ from, hopefully you received a little to make your Christmas white.

Happy Holidays!!!

What has happened?

Dec 08, 2007 by bassinbob in Sports

In a matter of 10 games the Islanders have gone from first to worst. Lost to Florida again 3-0! What has happened? They are playing as the worst team in the NHL, not to unfamiliar, right now. Not being able to watch them out here and only seeing the scores I think it must be a lack of team defense hopefully they will return to their winning ways before they fall to far back. Tonight is the end of the losing streak! It was fun to see the Avs beat the Flyers here in Denver however.

We have snow!

Dec 07, 2007 by bassinbob in General

We are getting snow today and it’s suppose to snow until Sunday while here in Lakewood we are only getting 3″ inches they are saying 3 feet of snow in the mountians. If you are a skier things are looking good for you the best snow of the year so far. Starting to feel like Christmas.
